Power Supply

Electronic components can be divided into two categories; active or passive. These two categories refer to the ability to produce energy. If a component add energy to the circuitry it is considered an active component. If the component use energy it is considered passive. There are three main type of passive components; resistors, inductive components and capacitors. Active components are typically semiconductors, combining electric conducting materials with isolators that are not conducting. There are three main type of power semiconductors; diodes, transistors and thyristors.

Comptronic delivers most of the components needed to design a switched power supply, including components for EMI filtering and over-voltage protection. In our product portfolio, we also have relays, reed switches, level sensors and Hall-effect sensor.
